We have an old ESS (5.0) the customer wants the Personal Information information to be read only. They would like to just show the information presented on the Review Page to be displayed (in other words there are NO updatable fields). I know I can set the properties for the fields presented to read only but really we don't need the whole Edit step from FPM. Is there a way to just go directly from the initial page presented to the Review Page (where the review page does not have a save option) or even better just the review page with no buttons at all?
Or is it just simpler to cut to the chase and not wrestle with ESS and do a custom page?
Regards,
Diane
Because ESS is a product designed to open up infotype maintainence to end users - read-only was not specifically considered
Before embarking on NWDI changes please first consider that in EHP3 you can modify bizcard overview via table
V_T7XSSPERBIZFLC and add more fields !
Therefore you could include some additional required fields for display only in bizcard via V_T7XSSPERBIZFLC then
Ensure roadmap steps are not clickable - this might be the default situation but it can also be done via Self Service Administrator
and Hide all navigation buttons like Edit buttons in the Overview using Personalization Ctrl and Right mouse button (at PCD preview for all users)
Try the above first
If however in testing you find there are still ways to get to Edit, Review and Confirmation views - you may need to manually remove the UI buttons in Overview via NWDI and remove roadmap steps via Self Service Administrator to ensure only overview of data is displayed when clicking on the ESS service - however this would be a modification of the delivered application
Best wishes
Stuart

Hi Diane,
One way is to update FcPersInfo in esspersap.com DC. From there you can hide the buttons in bizcard container.
Just a thought, from self service administrator, you can remove the roadmap steps you don't need.
