DIR_INSTANCE stopping Webdispatcher from starting

Hi,

I've installed a webdispatcher in a DMZ zone. VERSION 7.11.

When ever I set the DIR_INSTANCE parameter in the profile, the Webdispatcher will not start. It gives the error:

FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection refused), NiRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen(

startup of Instance failed

DIR_INSTANCE is set to /usr/sap/QWE/W21/secudir

(But the path makes no difference. Even if I leave the value blank I get the same error.)

Permissions are ok.

Can anyone tell me when DIR_INSTANCE is set how it can generate a NIECONN_REFUSED error.

I've set the http/https port to

1. Description of the Access Points

icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=52100

icm/server_port_1 = PROT=HTTPS,PORT=52101

Http is ok and can connect to backend system.

work directory missing under secudir ... changed parameter to point to /usr/sap/<sid>/w21
