Progress Analysis - POC issue

Hi,

I have implemented progress analysis but come across two issues as follows:

1) Used M.Method "Work" at activites but the calculated POC(aggregated) is not rolling over to WBSe where this activity is

assigned. POC weighting is configured as "Weight(Active Project)" and tried with other options also but no luck

2) For one WBS, I am using M.Method as "Time proportionality" and there I can see only non aggregated POC but aggregated

POC(neither plan nor actual) is not calculated.

Please shed some light on the above points and let me know if I am missing anything here !!

run the below mention reports in se38 and check for any missing customization

CHECKREPORT_PROGRESSANALYSIS

EARNEDVALUESHOW--shows you the caluculation result.

Hello Nag,

I checked this transaction all light are greed, except

Stnd Values for Measurement Procedure shows yellow light.

It says:

Maintain a default value in controlling area 7000 for:

  Progress Version 100, Object Type "Activity element, internal processing", Plan

  Progress Version 100, Object Type "Activity element, internal processing", Actual

same for external and General cost actvity.

I am not planning ti have Activity Element for my project.

I am using Measurment Method as Cost Proportional, I anm getting POC caluculated to actvities but it is not getting rolling up to WBS element.

WBS Lvl 1--> POC Wt 100--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

  WBS Lvl 2--> POC Wt 100--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

    WBS Lvl 3--> POC Wt 50--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

         Actvity 1--> POC Wt 500--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

         Actvity 2 --> POC Wt 50--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

    WBS Lvl 3--> POC Wt 50--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

        Activity 1--> POC Wt 50--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

        Activity 2 --> POC Wt 50--> M. Method Cost Prop (Plan, Actual)

Am I missing anthing?

You have assgined "Weight" as your aggregation method, have you maintained the weightage for activities and WBS Elements. If you have not maintained weightage then system will not aggregate the POC.

Also, you must have actual data's available as per measurement method to calculate actual POC.

Thanks Ahmed. It works. Now I can see aggregate POC on parent WBS. Request you to please provide some inputs about the other options given in POC weighting. Like, what is the purpose and when each one can be used. There I can see 7 options as under:

-Weight(active project) -already explained in above reply

-Cost Plan(active project, total values)

-Budget overall(active project)

-Budget early(active project)

-Work Basic(active project)

-Work forecast(active project)

-Cost Plan(active project, annul values)

These are the options available to calculate aggr. POC. I think the name itself is self-explanatory, for eg., Cost Plan--uses Planned cost of the project object as the basis for aggr.POC calculation.

Thanks Ahmed...Just one more doubt...Is it possible to roll up progress at project definition level. In my case it is happening upto level1 WBS but not at project definition level... Please confirm is this stadard system or am I missing something !!

As per my knowledge it is standard behaviour of the system.

Just an observation - Weightage is rolled up to project definition but Actual/Plan poc is not.

It is Std. SAP behavious that POC's are not aggregated at Project Definition level, but it aggregates BCWS , BCWP. If you have single WBS Element at level 1, then you can consider the aggregated POC at that WBSE as Project definition level.
