Archivelink - Basic Questions

Hello All,

We have a requirement to link scanned invoices with SAP transactions, and planning to use SAP Archivelink.

We are on ECC 6.0

1) Is it possible to use SAP Content Server to store the files for Archivelink? We do not want to use any external storage devices other than SAP Content Server

2) I read about "Document Finder" in Archivelink - Is it the same as Business Document Navigator (BDN), if no- through which transaction can we use 'Documetn Finder" in Archivelink?

3) Through the Document Finder or any means can I search on the File name of the Document in SAP, and not by finding the Object on which the Document is attached?

4) Do we need any external interfaces?

Hi Aby,

Yes,you can use SAP Content Server to store the files for Archivelink.However,if you work with SAP Content Server or a R3 DB, you need to use the HTTP interface.

Document Finder provides extensive search capabilities in comparison to BDN. Search based on filename is not part of standard behavior,needs development.The T-code for Document Finder is OA_FIND.
