WM-PP STAGING

I have a very simple question, to which the answer is known or not.....

In my case, it is NOT.!!!!!

And I cannot make sense of it.

I hope someone knows the answer.

In configuring

Client Dependant Control Table for WM-PP STAGING" TABLE V_T345

There is a filed titled : KUNWE ; Ship-to Party.

When I choose to do Staging via OUTBOUND DELIVERIES instead of Transfer Requirements, this table is requesting a SHIP-TO PARTY for

What is it looking for? I do not understand the concept of a SHIP-TO PARTY for Production Staging.

What is that Ship-TO PArRTY?

Can anybody explain that one to me please.

THANKS,

Alain

Outbound delivery requires ship-to-party. In this case it is production site. You simply create e.g. in transaction VD01 production supply area as ship-to-party.

Thanks Andrzej for your answer.

I was suspecting something like that : a technical request.

Can I use the same Ship-to Party for all entries in that table ?

My understanding is that it does not really use that information anyways.

Am I right?

Thanks for your answer

Of course, you can use the same ship-to-party for all entries. But in my opinion it is not only technical setting.

Supply area (e.g. production line 1) is a ship-to-party from warehouse point of view. Warehouse must deliver (via delivery) to customer (production line 1) components that production needs. Ship-to-party is visible in VL06O u2013 the basic tool for handling deliveries in warehouse. You can even assign adress for each ship-to-party/supply area

You are really helping me here.

And you are absolutely right.

Having a different SHIP-TO for each Supply area will provide a significant benefit to the warehouse personnel.

Thanks again.

Material staging via outbound delivery is only an technical option to do the picking (it is not a real delivery to send out the compnents from your plant), and ship-to party used for it has also only technical purpose.

You can create TO to provide parts for production:

- by processing TRs (generated from PrdOrd)

- do picking for (technical) outound deliveries
