Status management for product

Hi friends,

we need to define custom statuses 'In Design' , 'Design Ready' , 'Released' and 'Phased-out' for our products ( material masters ).

can you please advise what could be the best solutions for this in SAP. Step by step details will be highly appreciated . Thank you !

Hello Gaurav,

There are multiple ways of doing this in SAP, and it depends mostly on your requirement.

Some of the possible optipons are as follows:

1.You can maintain these in the BOM Header Material Status.

2. You can use separate material types for Prototype, Sample and finished product

3.You can use separate material codes.

4.You can use the revision levels along with classification
