Chinese characters appearing as Junk on exporting to Excel

Hi Experts

When the vendor master list ( using transaction code MKVZ) with Logon language as ZH is run ,The report displays the Chinese characters well, but when the report is export it into local excel file (EXCEL 2003) , all These Chinese Characters are shown as JUNK CHARACTERS.

Could you please guide/ advice why this is happening and what can be done to get the proper chainese characters in excel on downloading the report

Hi

I got solution for this .I followed below approach

Export the XL .Then Go to tab " FILE -

---

> Open -

---

>Select File (Select exported file ) -

---

> Select Chinese Simplified (GB2312)"

Now Chienese Characters will be shown properly.

While saving it Select Save Type as " Microsoft XL Workbook "
