Problems with Sapinst for dataexport sourcesystem hp-ux 11.23

Hi together,

we have a strange problem in the preparation of a database export via SAPINST from an Oracle-DB (10.0204) running on HPUX 11.23 with SAPINST, as this tools shows everything is done ok, but not dataexport was done, only filesystemstructure was build.

We try it with different SAPINST versions, but everytime same result. Interesting is also the fact, that SAPINST shows us not all screens as expected. E.g. the screen with "SAP System > Export to Target System", where you normally define Export Settings and how to start Migration Monitor is completely missing. On an Testsystem with HPUX 11.31 everything works fine, but no information on SAP-Net is available if may be in our case the HPUX Version 11.23 ist the maincause for our problems. Any ideas how to verify where the problems belongs to or any experience with TDMS/SAPINST-Problems at HPUX 11.23 ?

This happens when the Central Instance and the Database Instance are on different application server i.e. Database instance is on a virtual host

You need to start SAPINST with parameter SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME = virtualhostname.
