size checking

Hi,

I am new to linux environment.I had previously worked on HP UX.There when we had to check the space to be allocated to the file system we used to check by giving the command vgdisplay volume group name.Here in linux how do we check the same.Thanks a ton in advance

vgdisplay is part of lvm check that if it's missing.
