Help regarding PI Dev and Test installation on the same server

Hello Everyone,

I am stuck in a situation where we are having just one server available for PI development and Test.

My questions are :-

1. Can we have both Development and Test enviornment on the same hardware box.

2. We can have multiple clients of one system is it possible that our 400 client will act as developmet system and 500 as Quality system.

3. If we have multiple clients acting as Dev and Test can we have different java stacks also for 400 clients and 500 clients.

4. Our Basis team is trying to findout if they can have to Java stacks on the same server one for Dev and another for Test.

- No, this is not technically possible.

- n/a

- Yes, you will have two java stacks, one for Dev and one for QA.

Hi,

Thanks for your help..but our basis team is not able to do it due to less resources available on Physical server host.

Our ECC has Dev,QA and Prod systems...but if for PI we go for only Dev server and Production server ..will it do ?

What all the things we need to take care while development of the interfaces to ECC Dev , QA and Prod boxes..

Hello Henery,

At PI box there is only one client which will work as SAP PI object. Even if you install dual JAVA stack also it will not work. PI is combination of both ABAP and PI stacks. So for one PI system only one client will work as PI for another environment (like QUA, TEST) you should go for seperate installation.
