Activating audit trail

Hello Experts:

In material master MM02 I have the option of checking "Documentation Required"...

My understanding is this activates the "Audit Trail". Just what is the audit trail????

What other areas of QM are affected by checking this option???

Hi Verroz,

This option basically only records an audit trail for changes to the inspection lot or usage decision. Please see below the detailed description from SAP. This will not affect other areas with QM.

Causes changes to inspection lots for this material to be documented by

the system.

o Changes to the inspection lot or usage decision are recorded by

change documents and displayed in the change history for these

objects.

o Status changes are recorded in status management and displayed in

the status history.
