Hi SAP Experts,
My company is planning Hardware upgrade for our production Server. During this upgrade they need to upgrade the OS & DB. I need to know what I must read before this project.
Our Server details are as below:-
Windows Server 2003 SP2 32bit
Microsoft SQL 2000 SP4
SAP ECC 6.0 - Non Unicode - Kernel release 700 Sup.Pkg. lvl. 126
Migrate to:-
Windows Server 2003 SP2 64bit
Microsoft SQL 2005
SAP ECC 6.0 u2013 Non Unicode
New Hardware (IBM server).
Also, appreciate recommendation on the planning of this project.
Thanks in advance

MS SQL is properiatory database of microsoft and can runs only on windows platform but not on unix.
Hence suggest your management to go other database.

Well, you need to read the upgrade guide for MS SQL + related notes and check the notes with regard to parameters and memory settings of a 64bit platform...
Kind regards,
Mark
