ECC patching

Hi,

We are about to start patching ECC systems (a large number of patches will be applied). Obviously no users will be allowed to use ECC while the system is being patched. My question is we also have CRM system, can CRM be available for the users while ECC is being patched? Or should we stop the users to use all systems while ECC is patched? CRM is integrated to ECC for business partners, etc (standard integration between CRM and ECC systems).

Hi,

The best thing would be not to allow users to use CRM also because as CRM is integrated with ECC when user tries to do anything in CRM like for example creating service order or anythig and if it needs to get some details or updates something in ECC will have effect on patching. Hence best way I would recommened is to better stop CRM instance (because though you lock users there might be some jobs scheduled in ECC or CRM which might interact with each other) or lock users.
