Dear gurus,
I am performing ehp upgrade, because of this archive logs generation is high and the disk become full.
i want to do the following:
stop DB
take full backup
put no archive log mode and start DB
once after this can i delete those generated archive logs because of having the full drive backup.
Could you please guide me the safest procedure for contingency plan
Thanks and Regards
HI,
If you have sufficent space you can increase the file system.
You have mentioned that have taken full backup ( is it at the database level or OS level ) if its from OS level you can definitely delete the arhive logs.
one more option is to compress archvie logs or mv it some other location where you have sufficient space.
Thanks
Deepu

Hi,
The database is Oracle 10.2.0.4
I will do the following steps:
1. Stop DB, SAP and take full file system backup
2. start DB using no archive log mode
3. delete old archive logs
My question here is : Is it ok, if i can put permanant no archive log mode because our organization can take
full file system backup every week, and it is test system.
Thanks and regards
Hi,
Please mention your database name and version.
After you taken backup. you can delete old archivelogs. before that you can change the archivelog list disable or before start DB you can delete it.
Thanks
Jibin.
