BOM error

Hi All,

I have configured the two materials with item cat group ERLA and other with LUMF

and I set the item cat determinatin following way

HIGHER LEVEL PRICING.

OR+ERLA----TAQ ( REL: FOR PRICING)

ORNORMTAQ----TAE.

LOWER LEVEL PRICING.

OR+LUMF-----TAP

ORNORMTAP----TAN.(REL: FOR PRICING)

but when I try to create order I get the pop up to select BOM but in order BOM is not exploded only my header item I can see( for item cat group ERLA)

and when I try to use LUMF material I get the pop up to select BOM but its not exploded.

is there any setting for BOM explosion in sales order?

Check Structure scope in BOM section of your I Cats (VOV7).

Structural scope of a material with bill of material

Procedure - Make an entry here to indicate how a bill of material is processed in a sales order involving this item category.

When you are using configurable materials, the structure scope determines whether it is possible to configure the material in the sales document. In the item category, you must enter either C or D as the structure scope for configurable materials. You can specify the extent to which non-configurable materials should be exploded in the sales order, that is, the level up to which subitems should be created for the bill of material components.

structure scope in item cat is A

Every thing is correct but check the few things.

1. Make it as "Stock item - L" in the BOM master data in CS01.

2. BOM usage must be "5".

3. Make the *Item category group as either ERLA or LUMF in the material master of the BOM mate*rial.

4. Go to the item category in t.code VOV7, find out the field "*Structure scope" for Item category TAQ and TAP.

Enter the value as single level or multi level as applicable.

Check the Material master - Item category group is maintain in Sales :Sales Org 2 should be ERLA.

If that is not the case, the refer following SAP Notes:

Check your document type in vov8 display range field it has to be UALL .
