Dear all,

we have a netweaver 7.00 EHP1 platform, on which Mobile Infrastructure also has to be installed

But i am not sure how it can be done. Reading notes i saw that as of EHP1 it is not possible to install MI as Java Add-in

Many thanks in advance!

If you install MI you'll install a double stack instance together with the Java instance; no separate "Java Addin" installation required.

Hello Markus,

sorry i forgot something..

I have already installed a SAP JAVA Application Server and connected to Abap System

Now the customer wants to have MI application .

My question was about installing or adding MI to the currently running Java Appl. Server

I can not install it as Add-in, can I ?

No, you can't install an "ABAP Addin".

I'd install a new MI system and transer the functionality from the AS-Java to that new system so you don't need a second hardware.

Can i install "MI including EHP1" without ABAP part ?

Executing sap installation for MI, SAPinst tries to install firstly an ABAP System. But I already have an Abap

Thanks in advance

As I said before, MI is a double stack and need to be installed together with the ABAP. There is no "MI addin" to install.

Hello Markus,

that's Ok .

But if I install MI with Abap, what about my existing ABAP System ?

Nothing ?

It has been in use as BW System since years

Yeah - just leave it as it is and continue using it as BW system.

MI is a separate product, separate patch cycles, separate maintenance, it should be a separate system. In SAP environments I can just HIGHLY advise not trying to put everything into one system.

Hi Markus,

thank you very much for sharing your experiences.

Now i must find a way to convince the customer why we should install a new ABAP system

Bye,

Utkan
