Dear board,
I am working on Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition with SQL Server 2005 installed. I was installing an additional Java runtime for SAP NetWeaver Identity Management and apparently changed the JAVA environment on the system as my J2EE instance is not coming up anymore. <br>

I did not touch the previous JAVA files, what do I need to to to reenable it again? I have uninstalled the new JRE in the meantime and rebooted the box.

Reason why are you facing this error because you tried to change JDK in between which you mentioned in your earlier reply. Note which I suggested above is to cross check when you have changed JDK then have you taken all steps or not.
Also, bootstrap logs which you pasted looks like the problem with JDK only. Check SAP note 940893.
Thanks
Sunny
Hi Sunny,
many thanks again for your swift reply. Some questions coming out of the Notes you advised me to look at.
I.) 940893 Section 1: I am not able to use the Java -version command in the cmd line. Do I have to execute it in a specific directory. Nevertheless I have verified the path in the instance profile JP8_JC00_DEHDSV0029
jstartup/trimming_properties = off
jstartup/protocol = on
jstartup/vm/home = C:\j2sdk1.4.2_17-x64
jstartup/max_caches = 500
jstartup/release = 700
jstartup/instance_properties = $(jstartup/j2ee_properties);$(jstartup/sdm_properties)
Which files am I supposed to find in that directory?
II:) "can't find framework package D:\usr\sap\JP8\JC00\exe\jvmx.jar" --> This file is nowhere on my complete system.
III.) Even when I start the offline log viewer, it says something like path not specified?
IV.) I have checked the section 2 in 940893, seems to be not the problem.
I am sorry, that I do not get it. What is your recommendation as next step to investigate or repair?
Kind regards,
R.
Hi,
As per your logs:
> ERROR => Can't load VM shared library
Check below link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7f/28074152aff323e10000000a155106/content.htm
Thanks
Sunny
Hi Sunny,
thanks for this note. It brought me to the learning, that the uninstall procedure of the other JRE obviously damaged my other JRE as it deleted complete folders and files.
So, I went to http://www.sun.com/software/javaforbusiness/sap_download.jsp and took the same release, installed it, everything works again.
Kind regards and many thanks,
R.
Hi,
Have you changed JDK version as per SAP Note 718901 - How to Change the JDK of the J2EE Engine ?
Thanks
Sunny
