reg. activating batch management for existing materials

Hello all,

I am planning to activate batch management for already existing material that have enough stock in the system. the already existing material don't have the batch management set up activated. is there any way that the batch management can be activated at this point of time for the already existing materials and for the same material that will be created in the future.

Hi,

You can change (activate / deactivate) batch management requirement for material masters, it is standard SAP.

1) In MM02 set it for your material and try to save it --> (it's very probably) system will give error message --> click on "Display errors" button --> you will get information what hinders you from the change.

If you eliminate those problems, you will be able to carry out the change.
