Update Work Process - Different value in SM51 & TU02...which is correct?

Hi,

i am checking update work process configured in the system.

In SM51, i am getting 36 update work process but when i checked it through transaction

TU02 -> Active parameter, i found the parameter rdisp/wp_no_vb value is 16.

Am surprised to see the different value at different place, how its possible.

which is true, how many update work process is configured in the system?

Hello Rakesh Ranjan,

Can you check the operation modes (RZ04)?... if the system has another work processes configuration!

In RZ03 you see which operation mode is activate!

Hi,

Just incase you counted UPD, UP2 (both are update) in SM51 then it shows the sum of values defined by the following parameters:

UPD - rdisp/wp_no_vb - Used for critical updates

UP2 - rdisp/wp_no_vb2 - Used for non critical updates.

Hii,

Can you restart your application server and look again in sm50 .If your still facing the same problem go to rz04 and see how many update work processes are allocated.

Try to restart the instance and check both the transactions . then both places will contain same values..

Try to check through dpmon and jcmon from the command prompt . then u will know exact number of update processes

Hello,

you have 36 update process.

If you switch to a different opertion mode in TX RZ03,

the number of the work processes will be different than parameters in Tx TU02.
