Dear gurus,
I'm having problem when setting up SMSY in Solution Manager.
When setting up Landscape Components in Menu "Systems" tab "Instances", there's no instance read.
But in tab "Software Components", the list of software components is listed.
The screenshot is like this: [click here| http://javaplant.net/errors.jpg];
Because of this, I can't start mopz because Technical Systems is not set for ABAP System.
Please help.
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
Bobby Gunawan
Simple! I take it you aren't using SLD. In the abscence of SMSY_SETUP from SLD, go to the instance tab in question, switch to write mode and fill in the details of your instance... An abap instance name looks like host_SID_instanceNumber (eg fill in instance=host1_SID_00 instance number=00 server=host1). Remember to save.

SMSY_SETUP is a lot easier. setup RZ70 in all the remote systems to write their data to the SLD. If you have any systems setup, i would personally delete them and run SMSY_SETUP this will enter all the servers, systems, database etc and job done. All you need to do next is configure RFC connections, and assign to product and then landscapes. Just ensure your product list is up to date. Can do it manually but ensure you enter your hostname correctly, if you do and if you plan to generate an upgrade key from it.

Thanks for all your help.
It seems I should press enter key about 3 times to permanently filled the instance name.

Even with SAP ERP and configure with assistant, the instance is not listed there.
Any other suggestions?

Well, it's just like usual. Create the Server, Database, and then System.
I choose SAP ECC product version SAP ECC 6.0.
Then I provide the Message Server, System number, Server in header data.
I can't add manually, as it told me violating convetion or something, even afterI copy pasted the instance name from the physical server.
Any other opinions?

Hi,
How did you create the system in SMSY? was that through wizard or manually? Could you please check whether the Header data is maintained completely including the message server name, DB and instance number?
Also, you can manually add the instance name in the specified location.
