7.20 Patchlevel 1 + New ABAP editor crashes

Hi,

I've just installed pacth 1 for SAPGUI 7.20.

Unfortunately I cannot start the new ABAP editor anymore, my whole SAPGUI crashes.

If I switch back to the old one, that one works.

I tried to delete AB4 directory, but it didn't help.

I couldn't find any oss notes

It's under Windows XP SP2.

Any idea apart from reinstalling SAPGUI without patch?

Thanks to everyone for your input. We also got the following response to our message through OSS:

Yes you are right the problem be fixed in note 1490476.

Once the patch 2 of sapgui 720 is available , please download it from SAP portal (see note 535308).

FYI, patch 2 for SAP GUI 7.20 has been released

We also have developers facing this issue and are scheduled to roll out the GUI to all users soon. Please do let us know what SAP replies.

Hi Josh,

I'll keep this thread updated.

My suggestion is to roll out 7.20 without patch, it works fine. Only issue I faced was the missing zebra layout in ALV grid (see my thread in the same forum). Or you could just stay on version 7.10 for a while.

My users suddenly had debug/editor crashes too coincidental with installing Patch 1. Only way to give them a stable SAPGui was to un-install and put Patch 0 back on.

I hope Patch 2 corrects this w/o introducing another bad result.

Patch 2 was installed/tested and ABAP editor works fine now.

Please use Patch 3, Patch 2 is not stable too - toolbar - crash.

I must reinstalled the SAP GUI without Patch1 and all is fine.

This is what I did in the end

I guess I have to wait for patch 2, unless there is some trick (reg editing for example) to make it work with patch1.
