RHEL4 Maxdb Online Backup Agent

Hi can anyone recomend a cost effective online backup agent for a RHEL4-Maxdb installation.

What experiences have you had with said scenario wrt HA&DR - How was it configured, what software was used and are there any gotchas...

We have been running Netvault's product

called backint for backing up or MAX

DB 7.5.0.29 system within a RedHat 2.1

Enterprise system. We have used this for

the last 3 years and it has been working

very well.

At the time we were setting this up, there

were no other vendors who could directly

backup SAP DB databases along with all of

our other WIN2K and RedHat boxes. If we had to

do it again, we would probably backup the

MAX DB databases to a separate drive array

and then back up that rather than trying to

go directly from the DB to the backup software.

Not sure if this will help because it is so

late but thought I would throw in my 2 cents.
