Hi all;
I am using BRTOOLS or BRBACKUP to take online and offline backup... what is the difference between RMAN and BRTOOLS
is anyone knows
Thanks
It is suggested to use the latest version of BRTOOLS to backup your db since it is provided by SAP, although as previously stated you can call RMAN as an option if you'd like to us it.
I personally prefer BRTOOLS and have setup the complete BRTOOLS Studio front end for web-based administration per SAP Note 1224432.

RMAN is a backup tool provided by Oracle which can also be used via the brtools if you wish to back up your Oracle database via RMAN.
BRTOOLS on the other hand is provided by SAP. It is a framework which allows administration of the Oracle db via several menus that guide your through different sort of administration tasks. BRBACKUP is therefore the part of the brtools framework that triggers the configured backup tool - which can be RMAN.
