Hi,
we are using EP 7.0 on UNIX.
In the first login screen of EP, even after entering valid user ID & password we are getting the same login page with the User ID field filled and password field empty, without showing any error messages. If we enter incorrect user ID or password it says "user authentication failed". This is happening for all valid user IDs (even for super administrator).
we have tried to resolve the problem by restarting the portal server, but it does not work.
we are able to start or stop the portal server and also able to login to the Visual administrator.
We have already checked issues related to browser cookies settings and security level and it is all ok and not the cause of this problem.
any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Did you made any changes in the system, after which you started to get this problem.
Thanks

Hi,
Login issues should be written to defaultTrace files at server nodes' log directory. Could you copy the error message that is reported at the end of most recently updated defaultTrace file, as you say all users are facing this issue, the error would be repeatedly written.
Are you able to reach the index page ? ( http://Portal URL/index.html) . If yes, are you abled to login to UME Administrator ?
Is it that some transport to the system triggered this issue ?
Please go through the following Note, which is one common issue that nobody is allowed to login to Portal, but yes, maynot be the case with you.Only the error in defaultTrace files can give a clue.

SAP Note 713210 - Restrictive ACL settings can block access to portal

Hello Narendra,
Have you checked that you have the following login modules in the ticket stack:
EvaluateTicketLoginModule SUFFICIENT {ume.configuration.active=true}
BasicPasswordLoginModule REQUISITE
CreateTicketLoginModule OPTIONAL {ume.configuration.active=true}
To do so open Visual Admin and browse to Server->Services->Security provider. Select "ticket" from the list. Configure it here.
I hope this helps you.
Regards,
Blanca
