SAP Netweaver 7.0 installation

Dear Experts,

I am not sure if this the correct forum to address this question, but you answers would be highly appreciated.

My question is , for Netweaver 7.0 installation , is it compulsory to generate the key from solution manager?

Dear Jay,

During the installation/upgrade process you are prompted to enter the "SAP Solution Manager Key". This key is needed to proceed with the installation/upgrade. Without this key, the installation process cannot continue.Please find more informaiton in SAP note 805390.
