Hello,
we configured our SAP systems to accept mails (ESMTP/SICF/etc.) and it works.
Our mail server does the normal filtering of SPAM, but nevertheless some will go through and the SAP ESMTP will reply with 554 or something like that, this reply will be send to the world and we will be blacklistetd
Variant a: Can I disable reply messages (like User not found) in the SAP System?
Variant b: Normally our Mailserver asks a LDAP server if the user exists, is there something like this in the SAp world?
Thanks in advance...
Jan
Hi Jan,
Unfortunately there is no way to disable reply messages in SAP. So 554 is always going to be relayed For the second question is no SAP does not query a specific list of users to verify that the user exists in your system. A string search for the email address is checked against ADR6 and that is it. Sorry
P.S. If you correctly configure your mail domains per SAP best practices (user@ client.sid.company.com or mulvey@ 100.PRD.sap.com) then you will not have a problem with automatic 554 being relayed to the world.
Hope this helps
Michael
