Change Global Group Name SAP_<SID>GlobalAdmin

We want to perform a Domain Installation SAP CRM 7.1 Installation on Windows 2008. Therefore we have to create a new global group SAP_<SID>GlobalAdmin. Can i change the name of the Domain Group because our Namingkonvention for domain groups are different.

I have one Customer who had this demand and to solve it, I had to stop SAPinst,

hack an xml-fil in 6-7 places and then restart SAPinst.

So it is possible to perform a workaround for this.

However, I can not recommend this since it might have effect on future upgrades

(and perhaps lack of support from SAP?) and is too complex to describe here.

You should not change the name of the groups created by sap installer.

SAP use the group name as they get created in installation process...

The groups are automatically created by sapinst.

Not supported to change the names
