Hi,
If one is implementing ECC 6.0 and APO at the same time then what is the sequence of go-lives and why ? Would you go live on ECC frist and then APO or viceversa or would you go live on both at the same time ? Also what is the reason for a particular sequence of golives.
Thanks
GS
Hi GS,
Itu2019s actually a business decision whether you want to go for big bang simultaneous ECC and APO implementation that can help to reduce the time of implementation or can go for phased mannered implementation of ECC first and then APO as once ECC is implemented and have a stabilized process with accurate master data which is key requirement of any successful APO implementation post that.
Please refer my earlier post/question High Level Inputs () on the forum for the similar requirement .

Hi,
Further to reply above, I want to add a point as below:
Most of the master data and some of the important transaction data( e.g. Sales history) in APO flows from SAP ECC.
In this perspective, ECC is the master driving system for master data in APO.
APO can go live either simultaneously or after ECC go live.
APO go live before ECC is not recommended.

In addition to what I mentioned above, regarding the users confidence level, once they are better familiar with the basic functions/screens of SAP by implement ting ECC, the change management and technology acceptance level issues will be smoothened when you go for APO implementation which is comparatively a new dimensional module from planning perspective -this helps sometimes :). on the other hand if there are lot of issues in master data, wrong business process setups, fast and forced implementation, system understanding issues- it may turn down the whole ECC golive and plans for next implementation of APO.

Hi GS,
It is always better to go live ECC first and get stabilished for sometime
in terms of master data. Meanwhile, the template of APO needs to be
developed and get ready.
Once ECC is set ready, then parallelly, APO will be kept go live. This
will ensure the smooth functioning at the end user level and to get
leverage on both the systems in terms of issues, connectivity and
master data problems
