WBS, AuC- Depreciation issues

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We have an issue with AuC- depreciations (relevant for Modified accrual accounting).

1st issue

- The WBS element creates an AuC automatically when released, the cost center field on the AuC master record has the requesting cost center of the WBS element- Standard functionality

- With the current design, responsible cost center field on the WBS element has the budget

- After the actual costs are posted, settlement is run from the Network activity to the WBSE, WBSE to AuC

- When depreciation is run (Modified accrual 100% is depreciated), it is hitting the requesting cost center (cost center on the AuC) and not cost center where there is budget, this is creating issues to the accounting department with budget, actual mismatches between the cost centers.

2nd issue

- WBS can have number of network activities, each with the flexibility to have a different Fund center (cost centers), and there is no way we can have depreciation hit these respective cost centers, as AuC is at the WBS level and with the requesting cost center.

Please suggest any work around for these issues.

Thanks

Madhu

Dear Abdul,

Thanks for your reply.

We use FM for Budgeting and have used user exit in FM Deriver to derive the Funds center from WBS Responsible cost center to the Network activity, our major issue is with AuC depreciation costs posting to the requesting cost center rather than responsble cost center.

Thanks

Dear Madhu,

Hope you are using Funds Management for Budgetting.

You need to use the user exit in FMDERIVE to derive the fund centre as fixed by the accounts department. Once the derivation rule is set you will not be able to change the fund centers as you wish.

Tnx.

Abdul.
