I m new to SRM
I want to know how is the org structure used in SRM and comparison with ECC MM
Regards,
NIkhil
- it is a hiereachical information about your enterprise , organisations , department and positions.
- org structure isa heart of SRM
- all the attribute values ar epredefined here .
- it helps requester / buyer and other users inherits all the values to create a successful objects.
like document type , financial system , movementype, ship to address , company code ..
- it controls upon the product category - purchase groups are determined.
- purchase group determines the purchase organisation.
- catalogs can be inherited.
every thing organisation structure .
NO ORGANISATION STRUCTURE NO SRM .

Hi,
In MM the user can create a P.O for all the Purchase organisation say PORG1,PORG2 etc unless the authorisation is restricted
and he can select any purchasing group.
In authorisation only the Purchase organisation and Purchasing group are controlled. Similarly company code,Plant etc.
In SRM ,the user is assigned to one Purhcasing Group,One Organisation and different Company code.
In SRM all the authorisation in controlled in SRM attributes for the user say company code,Plant,Purchasing Group,Purchasing Org
etc. The User cannot create shopping cart unless these are assigned in the attributes.
In SRM the organisation check is there. if there is any inconsistency we cannot create a shopping cart .we have to rectify the
defect.

Dear NIkhil
SRM Org structure is more powerful than ERP from it's function's point of view, here it is possible to define responsible purchasing group, purchasing organization, account assignment in attributes, higher manager level..etc, so when the user which is integrated in the structure create a shopping cart(it's somehow like requisition in backend, ), workflow system is working automatically to determine the manager(of course also depends on which workflow is used.)and account data is read from attribute , org data is determined ..and so on.. You have different options to create users in SRM, tr:users_gen.
For the org strucuture details, refer to the link below.

But ECC MM, it is more simple, there is no these mappings in advance.
Hope this information is helpful for you.
