Hi gurus !!!
We are planning to move form HP-UX PA RISC 11.11 + Oracle 10.2.0.4 to Itanium 11.31v.
We've read carefully, many documentation and notes, but we are not sure about Oracle.
How we install oracle on Itanium ?. Which manual we need to follow ?
When we solve about oracle we are plant to do :
1. Install OS patches and Kernel parameters on Itanium
2. Create File systems needed on Itanium
3. Install Oracle Software 10.2.0.0 ( ?¿? .. Our question , PA-Risc we are 10.2.0.4)
4. Copy Data Files
5. Copy SAP software from PA-RISC (/usr/sap/trans and /sapmnt//exe
7 .CHange all host related files like listener tnsanmes etc çç
8. Satrt SAP
Please could anyone tell us step by step about Oracle ?
Thanks in Advance.
Hi
Moving form HP-UX PA RISC 11.11 + Oracle 10.2.0.4 to Itanium 11.31v.
HPIA64 and HP-UX PA-Risc versions of SAP software are not Binary Compatible the components must be Replaced with the Verssions for HP_UX IA64 on Target system ) & Oracle release and patch level for database in the source and target system should be the same (10.2.0.4).
1) Perform the database offline backup of the source system(PARISC)
2) install SAP and Oracle on the Target system system (HPUX IA64 ) (Download from market place SAP support version HPUX IA64)
3) Perform the sap kernel Upgrade
4) Stop the sap & and oracle
5) Restore the offline Database into Target system.
Thanks & Regards
Gattu

Thanks for your quick response !!!
Yes, I've read 612796 note and 671804, and my question is regarding Oracle installation on Itanium, because I'm not clear what we have to do.
Do we have to install Oracle on Itanium first ? .In note 671804 said for Oracle 10g, but we have 10.2.0.4 on PA-RISC ?
Please could you clarify.
Thanks in advance.
Check
http://service.sap.com/systemcopy
It's like
- taking an offline backup on the source system
- start sapinst on the target system and select "system copy by backup/restore"
