Hi

When am gng to result in QA32 after selecting the material the system is throwing following error.

Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot 080000000087

Message no. QE181

Diagnosis

You cannot record any characteristic results for this inspection lot. The material master has been set up for the existing inspection type in such a way that results recording is not supported.

Procedure

Confirm defects for this inspection lot or select another inspection lot in which you can confirm the characteristic results.

Hi,

Error is due to inspection group is not assigned to the Material.

1) Assign the inspection specifications in --QA02 t-code& Take UD you will be able to post the stock

2) If the inspection plan is NOT yet created then create the Inspection Plan in QP01 & proceed step 1 above

Look at the inspection type setup for the material in the plant you are having this problem with.

Look for the check box "Check Chars". Make sure this is clicked on. It is is not on, then you can only make UD, no characteristic recording is allowed regardless of what inspection plan is assigned.

Hi,

If the material has inspection plan assigned with lot, check the details of inspection type in material master (mm03).In the details, the field called "check characteristics" is not ticked. After making that field ticked, you have to cancel the business transaction to create a new lot and because of that new lot will not have this result recording problem.

If you donu2019t want to cancel the business transaction, go to QA02 and assign a inspection plan of another material.

If the material does not have any inspection plan assigned with lot and the field Check characteristic in the details of the inspection plan is ticked, assign a inspection plan of another material to do RR.
