Using BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2 for checked out Documents

How can I use the BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2 to check out Documents which are already checked out by another workstation?

I regret to inform you that a "new" checkout with BAPI DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2 is not working if the file is already

checked out by another workstation.
