can we define profile in customizing for default values of storage category

Dear Friends,

When I am going thru the help.sap for DMS, I come across in -- Storage of Data in Storage Systems Using the Knowledge Provider

1. This profile is maintained in Customizing for Document Management and contains the default values for the storage category.

2. If no storage category can be determined, the system displays a dialog box of all the possible storage categories. You can select one storage category.

Can I know how can we make profile. As I know we can do user default settings for storage category, but thru this profile we can do for all users at a time.

This profile means "roles of PFCG" which we assigned. When I checked in organization levels & objects, there is no profile.

Hi Sai,

If you select the area as document management while defining the repository in OAC0 then the users in dms can view the documents. Roles are only to restrict to specific group or business area or department.

Thru pfcg it's not possible.

Thanks for the reply.

In our system we have defined we have defined in OAC0 in document field for many content repositories we have defined "DMS".

So when user try to check in in DIR, it prompts the follwoing :

DMS_C1_ST Default storage DMS (main files)

DVS1CONT Category for DVS content objects

DVS1STRUCT Structures for DVS

ZDMS_REACH Storage Category for REACH DMS

Z_CAD Content storage for CAD (US Demo Only)

For this reason I am thinking is tere any option for default storage category other user own settings.

Yes, its possible to define Profiles for required Document Types(and assign as defalut) in SPRO. Peruse the below thread for further details:
