Custom Feild Input Help from Custom Table

Hi Experts,

Please help me regarding my webdynpro requirement.

I have this field that requires a search help. The Search Help is getting the values from a custom table. The custom tables have example values like below.

Field 1 - Field 2 - Field 3

C A12 Computers

C A13 Computers

C A14 Computers

B B12 Box

B B13 Box

B B14 Box

Now, the values of the input help will depend on the Field 1 values. Can I select the values that will appear in the Search help depending on the Field 1? So for example I only need all the "C". When I click the input help on the field, only the 3 rows which has the value field 1 = C will appear.

Hi,

I think it's not possible to do that with search help.

Another possibility could be to open a WebDynpro window with only the values of the first column (field 1). If the user clicks on field with "C" all rows with "C" beginning will be displayed together with field 2 and 3.

I mean a display in hierarchical format. There is a good sample in SRM for displaying the search help for the product category. Call it and flag the "hierarchical view" and you will see what I mean.
