Assigining material to different plants/sales org

Hi,

I have one material number 112769 (DVD) assigned to plant A and sales org 1

1a) can I assign the same material number 112769 to Plant B and sales org 2.

b) or can i create another material number for same DVD and assign to plant B and sales org2.

if both a and b are possible. which is a better option a or b

2) If the material 112769 is assigned to div 01. Can i assign the same material 112769 to div 02.

1) Yes

2) If it is in same Company Code, then the answer is no because, this (Division) is in Basic Data1 tab which is common across a Company Code. Instead, you can assign it to cross division

1b) technically possible but should not do in standard practice

2) No. Each material can have only one divison. If you want to sell a material by different sales areas including a different sales division, then you can define cross division in customizing. But material master cannot have cross division and it should have the actual material division only.
