Hi!
We use EHP1 for SAP ERP with MaxDB on Windows.
We use two SAP instances (DB instance and Dialog instance).
We configured 14 dialog processes on DB instance and 40 Dialog processes on Dialog instance.
Usually appr. 150 users each sap instance are working in SAP system (150 users times 2 = 300 users).
Question:
1) Should we configure more dialog processes?
2) Make it sence to install an additional dialog instance?
Any helpful information will be very appreciated!
2. Make it sence to install an additional dialog instance?
Not unless you add another server, there is no benefit adding another instance on the same box. You will only compete for cpu/memory/disk resources within the instances.
Cheers Michael

Hi Holger,
do you check SM50/SM66/AL08 at your peaks?
If you always have some WP (Dialog) with status waiting it is not necessary to install an additonal Instance.
Check in ST03N the Roll In Wait Time(Iam not sure at the moment if it is the correct Value). If you have a higher Wait Time at your peaks it could be an indicator that you need more Dialog WP.
If you have a low CPU Usage and enough memory first you can add addtional WPs.
Regards
Franz
