Language in Office integration

Dear all,

we have the problem, that a user that uses a english version of Vista / Office 2007 is logged on to SAP R/3 ERP 6.0 in english sees a GERMAN excel (all excel menu and function texts), when he uses the excel integration out of a ALV list.

We already checked the user settings and every place we could find, that looks like a labguage setting is set to english and it still opens Excel in German.

Does anybody have any idea on this?

thanks for your answer.

The excel and OS settings itself are correct, because if the users open their excel independant from SAP it appears in english.

Only if Excel (and by the way also Word when editing texts or something like that) is started from SAP it appears in german.

But we try to investigate the places you gave me and try out.

Hello Michael,

Have you checked the OS Regional Setting and Excel settings?

To do this, try to follow the below paths:

- (in the SAP GUI): Open SAP Logon ->Select the connection -> Press the button "Change Item" -> select the "Code Page" tab -> choose 'Language Settings' and 'Upload/Download Encoding' according to your needs;

- (in Windows): Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Regional Options
