Attaching documents in Service Desk

Would someone be able to explain to me how Service Desk stores the documents attached to Service Tickets?

Are they stored within the databasse or stored in another location?

Dear Simon,

Attachments to Service Desk messagea are stored in the database. They are not stored externally.
