Can't Access Java Visual Admin

Hello Gurus,

I am sucessfully able to start Java stack in my SAP dual stack server. I can access configtool and can access dispatcher and servers properties as well. I can see Jcontrol and Jlaunch process running in unix.

but when i tried to access Visual admin, i receive an error "can not open connection on host <IP> and port:50104".

I am using "direct connection to dispatcher node" option to configure access.

Please tell me what can be wrong in this?

Hi Shiv,

A few other ideas that you can try:

- In configtool -> secure store: check that the admin port is actually 50104

- Check if port 50104 is listening (see if you can ping this host:port)

- Check the /etc/hosts file for hostname resolutions

Also, you may want to try using FQDN as host (instead of IP) for VA connection.

Hello Guys,

I found one error in std_server0.out file about one unknown java parameter -verbose:jc . I removed this and restarted application. this time server tried to start but due to less cache there were lots of warning message. I have increased cache but still server could not be started. In sap mgt console , Under J2EE section - SDM is green, server is yello and dispatcher blank. I am attaching few files for you reference.

I checked sap console and found that there is no process running for - server0 and dispatcher under J2EE section. SDM shows green light.

Hello Sharma，

Did you see SDM is green while the other two "server0" and "dispatcher" is gray?

If this is the case, it seems the max heap size of JVM should be adjusted in config tool at offline mode.

try to increase the max heap size for each server node at some extent and then restart it again.

please be sure that the max heap size(-Xmx) is greater than initial heap size(-Xms), if initial size is bigger than max size, this could be the problem.

Hi Sharma,

Please try to use port 50004 and make sure the port number is not restricted by any firewalls.

I suspect your ABAP central instance number is 00 and your Java Central services instance number is 01, so, you use 50104 instead of 50004? if this is the case, please try 50004.

Hello,

Check from operation system side if the port 50104 is open.

I am not sure your operation system but you probably can use the netstat -an do find.

I can access SDM ports sucessfully (http://<host>:<port> - it gives no page error, i.e. port is alive) -

I assumed that your Instance_nr is 01. Try creating a new connection and use a user userid and pw you are sure can log into your system. Then test your connection. First try to use this userid e.g. J2EE_ADMIN if it is a dual stack or Administrator on a single stack and see if you can get it. If you can, then configure a new connection in your VA to use this user to see if u can log in.
