Hi Mobile Experts,

I am new to the field of MI and I am curious to know the future of this Niche field.

How will the Mobile field grow post the acquisition of Sybase.

Also, Can MI be effective in fields like Healthcare and other verticals.

As far as I know, MI can be very effective in Energy & Utilities.

But Can it be in other fields?

Please throw light on these aspects.

Hi!

SAP NW Mobile is a platform - and it is solution / vertical agnostic. Almost any type of mobile solution can be developed using NW Mobile. Like Vinodh mentioned, any business process that requires mobility can be mobilized. The platform also provides standards based open interfaces that enables you to build a variety of applications on a wide array of devices and manage them effectively.

Prior to the acquisition, SAP already had a co-innovation partnership with Sybase. As a result of that partnership, two mobile applications were developed: [Sybase Mobile Sales for SAP CRM|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK_WQKyl6WQ] and [Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PixIer7z_RA]. You can check this blog to know how the Co-Innovation architecture looks like: [Co-Innovation architecture|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/19455] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

Currently productive NW Mobile customers include some of the the biggest names from several verticals such as defence, transportation, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, software, etc.

Hi,

Mobile field is expected to grow by many folds in the near future, not only because of Sybase acquisition but also due to SAP's business strategy. Mobile can be used virtually for any fields/sectors. If the business process demands Mobility, then Mobile solution can be implemented. SAP already has customers using Mobile solution in healthcare industry.

Best regards,

Vinodh.
