HI Forum,
1. I am trying to use "Field Status per Usage type" functionality to decide the status of some fields in REFX for rental objects. However, evene after defining the status in the field the changes or the relevant status is not taking effect.
Is there any other setting or rule we need to configure to get the same implemented into system.
2. My client has three distinct types of buildings spread all accross the country numbers going into 10K/100K. They want then to be categorised in different number ranges. Is it possible to define Building types based on different building types in SAP, by way of some BADI, etc.?

Rohit
Hi Rohit,
No.1
just one possibility for you to look upon. It could be that your settings per usage type depends also on the settings per activity (the item in Customizing just one above called 'Field Status'). The dependencies are described in Docs for the 'Field Status per Usage Type'. May be you have seen this already.
For example, if you define that one field is hidden in general in create/change mode than it will be hidden regardless of what your setting are for any usage type.

You can use BADI_REBD_BUILDING and Method GET_NUMBER to distinguish between different Building types and assign the next free number from the appropriate number range. Note here it should be still an Internal Number Range set up in SAP for the Building Object. An this Number Range should be combined of all distinct number ranges ob building types.
