Hi,

This may be a basic question .

What is the settings to be done to deploy the VC applications in portal?

Once we deploy the model created in visual composer where it will be deployed?

What is GPAL?

Typically the iView is deployed to the PCD under a common folder structure such as Visual Composer > Models > model name > iviews > pertinent iviews. If the model contains multiple iViews, they will all appear under the iviews folder.

Also, I typically have the GML to a different location from the portal as backup copy.

For Generic Portal Application Layer see SAP Help http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/5e93dc35624ddee10000000a1553f7/content.htm

Hi,

When the visual composer applications are deployed it is getting deployed into 'Webdynpro Applications' . Its not getting deployed into the portal content folder.

Is there any configurations set to be deployed in that way?

Idhaya R,

VC is integrated with CE7.1 onwards.

You access VC using the following URL:

http://<server>:<port>/VC/freestyle.jsp

Since you access the URL of the same CE server, the models get deployed on the same CE server.

Hi Idhaya R,

The link given by John talks about GPAL(Generic Portal Application Layer).

It is used to make the content developed outside the Portal(e.g. PDK Applications, WebDynpro Applications, VC Applications) available n the Portal in order to be able to readily use them to create the PCD objects out of them.

In Content Administration in CE you can see the GPAL repositories such As 'Portal Applications','Web Dynpro Applications', 'Portlet Applications'.

VC Models are developed outside the portal and are deployed as Web Dynpro applications. That's the reason they are shown under the 'Web Dynpro Applications' in CE. You can just copy them from there and Paste in 'Portal Content' as PCD object to readily create the Portal content.

Thanks and Regards,

Ajay

HI Ajay,

How to configure which server the VC applications would be deployed?

Will it not be deployed in Visual Composer folder in portal content also? Or it would be available only in Webdynpro applications?

Hi Idhaya,

You can view the PCD content(iVies,Pages, workset, roles etc) created using VC under the Portal Content->Content Provided By SAP->Modeled Content--><your DC name>_impl folder
