Oracle upgrade sequence

Hi Folks

I am new to DB field.I need to upgrade Oracle from 10.2.0.2 to Oracle 10.2.0.4

We are using ECC5.0,HP-UX-PA-RISC.

But i am confused due to introduction of SAP Bundle Patches (SBP) as per note 1137346

An SBP contains the following:

The current Patch Set Update (PSU).

SAP-specific single patches and merge patches that are required but not contained in the PSU.

Generic patches that are not contained in the PSU.

The current SAP-specific optimizer merge patch.

README.html: Installation description for the SBP.

bugs_fixed.html: List of patches included.

so what i understand upgrade sequence will be

1 installation of Patch set (10.2.0.4)

2 Installation of MOpatch

3 Installation of SAP Bundle patch (SBP)

4 Updation of instant client

Now shall i need to update CRS (Cluster ready services) ??

if this sequence is wrong please let me know what sequence shall i follow.

Regards

Kuldeep Tanwar

Hello Kuldeep,

Are you using Oracle RAC? If not you can ignore this part.

The sequence you mentioned is correct. But regarding step 3 don't forget that some installed opatches need manual postprocessing. Check the readme of the SBP for the required steps to perform this postprocessing.
