Hello,
After releasing material (QA32) we post qty. in unrestricted, sample. Our issue is for FERT materials we require sample for QC testing and some retention samples (reserve) for monthly testing and other studies. At present we post both QC samples and retention samples in sample qty. while posting. My query is, is it possible to post both qty. differently in QA32. At present we are not able to post these two qty. differently as there is no option for retention samples.
Regards,
Gkude
Yes it possible but needs some decipline to follow.
What you can do is --->in UD stock posting screen if you are not using a field like "New Material" etc then in customization you can change the mvt type of new material from 309 to say 331
so in new material you can post retension sample & new actual sample tab you can put QC sample.
This is maximum can be possible.

You'll find the config in QM under the area inspection lot completion. You should find a line item in there for stock postings. Read the help files in the config and it should be clear. I'm assuming someone in your company has already edited them once before if you aren't seeing the above mentioned posting lines in your inspecion lots' UD screens.

Yes.. in the stock positng tab aren't you seeing the posting lines "To Sample" and "To Reserves"?
These lines should be there in standard SAP. In the QM plant config you usually specify a specific storage location for the reserves, i.e. a sample storage room. The quantity posted to reserves is then moved to this storage location.

While taking UD in QA32 , You can post these 2 quantities differently.
under inspection lot stock tab , You can find various options like To Unrestricted use, To Resreves etc.
