Physical invemtory Book Quantity

Hi Experts,

user has created and posted a physical Inventoty on 05/06/2010.

In physical Inventory document it is showing the book quantity as 3,283.

where as in the report MB5B for the posting 05/06/2010 it is showing as 897.

User has counted the quantity physically in storqage location which is 783 and entered in the PID.

by the efect the of posting of PID 783 ,a material document is generated for -2500.

My issue is why MB5B report is showing quantity as 897 for the posting date.

and why PID document is showing book quantity as 3,283 on that posting date.

early feed back is greatly appreciated....

Regards,

Laxmi....

Hi Experts,

Any feed back on this.please give me your valuable feed back.

I lookng in ti the MB51 report where my posting date and Entry dates are different .physical inventory document date is 06/05 and where as my Material document

Document Date = 06/05

posting date =06/05

Created on = 14/05.

From the above on which date stock is updated as Book quantity in PI document.

it depends on settings you use to create the physical inventory document.

as it is a longer story, please read the OSS Note 368296 - How does the system determine the book inventory?

and Note 202834 - Determ. of book quantity within physical inventory

Hi,

From my previous physical Inventory experience, MB5B does not count stocks with Vendor.

If your company has stocks provided to vendor, please check the quantity for this.

This can be one of the reason of discrepancy.

Hi,

If you see the stock on posting date that will show only particular date Inventoey.

Check MB52.

Hi Sam,

In MB5B we can use the from date and To date parametes to see the stock.

Using the dates we can see the total reciepts and Issues.

where as in MB52 we can only see total available stock as on today since there is no date parameter available in MB52 report.

Using MB52 we can not see the stock on previous posting dates.

Chcek with MB51 report ,do analysis for that particular material in that period .Then you will come to know what went wrong.
