Is there a possibility to have variables in work instruction URL?

Like http://servername/xx/:port:%MATERIAL%:%MATERIAL_VERSION%

One more example similar to your URL:

Sample URL I used,

http://www.ndtv.com/news/search/results.php?cfeed=tw%3BSU%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.ndtv.com%3BLC%3A%230033...

It works fine.. If you want some screenshots I can send them to you.

Pete asked about replaceable paramenters (e.g. %MATERIAL% and %MATERIAL_VERSION%), not about variable (like ...page.jsp?variable=value) in URL.

As I said, replaceable parameters are not supported, but variables in URL work without problems.

Petri,

Replaceable parameters were not implemented for Work Instructions. Only for Events and Next Number patterns, if I have not missed anything.

Just created on Workinstruction with URL (URL with some variable present)

But after Re-deploying the SAMe_ext web application it's not working and not able to view it in Rich POD for WI,

I guess I just tested URL but Sorry for my answer it is not working...

Later I checked the documentsation which states the URL format should be like:

http://servername:port/VisipriseMfg_ext/workinstructions/filename.extension

or

http://corp05:7101/VisipriseMfg_ext/workinstructions/wi12.htm

So don't think variables are working...

Hello Pete,

I tried to put below URL in my WI:

http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&ei=5jogTJS7CoOHcbCZ6FI&q=industrialengineerpune&start=10&sa=N

there are plenty of variables in this URL...

then attached this WI to one of my material.

For that material in standard POD if I use the work instruction viewer I am getting the correct page displayed..

So conclusion is I can use URL with variables.. (SAP documentation say no to that but it works)

If you have any sample URL which you want to test i can do it for you.
