automatic material determination

Dear experts,

I want in the current sales order, with a main item, the possibility to be able to automatise another material picked up in the second

line item.

That means, I enter a main material in the sales order and the system should automatically pick up another material which is linked to in the order level.

Please advice how I can automatsie this.

Its not about substituting a material it is about entering a new material automatically, similar to the free goods functionality.
