Artcile Master and Characteristics at Merchandise Category Level

Hello,

Is there an limitation or a recomendation on how many characterstics can be / should be attached to a merchandise category?

Hi

There is no hard and fast rule but you have to consider what you want to use the characteristics for.

If they are for use for Generic/Variant article creation then you shouldn't really have more than two, maybe three. If you create more than one 'article generating' characteristic you should create a characteristic profile and assign the two characteristics to the profile and then assign the profile to the merchandise category.

If you want to create general data capturing characteristics I can't see an issue with creating many characteristics and assigning them to the merchandise category.
