Hi Friends

i installed NW EHP1 EP . in my mmc i got 3 nodes like DAA,EP7,SMD

what is use of this DAA and SMD

Help me reagrding this

Hi

As SMD will be installed with the new Netweaver Products , your EP system installed with the Solution manager Diagnostics.

So SMD is your solution manager diagnostics. DAA might be your System Name.

but SMD is related solution manager , can i use this like sloution manger SMD which do in soluiotn manager ,

DAA is not my related to system . after instal its came automatically ,

Code from installation guide

SAPinst sets <SMDSID> to DAA by default.
If DAA is already used by another SAP system that is not a Diagnostics Agent
instance, <SMDSID> is set to DA<x>, where <x> can be any letter from A to Z, and
DA stands for u201CDiagnosticsAgentu201D).

You always need to install SMD on client side also , yes you can use this SMD to cnnect to solution manager.
